Sessions 7 & 8

Session 7 will cover:

  • Cortese, Garganega, Verdicchio, Fiano Nebbiolo, Barbera, Corvina, Sangiovese, Montepulciano

  • You will be able to describe the style and quality of both still wines made from regionally important grape varieties and other regionally important named wines made in the key wine producing countries of the world.

Examples will include, Barolo, Valpolicella, Barbera, Chianti, Fiano, and Verdicchio

Session 8 will cover:

  • Sparkling wines Fortified wines.

  • We will outline the methods used in the production of sparkling wines and describe the style of these wines produced in the key wine producing countries of the world.

  • The methods used in the production of fortified wines and describe the style of these wines produced in the key wine producing countries of the world.

Examples include: Champagne, Cava, Prosecco, Fino Sherry, Oloroso Sherry, Amontillado Sherry and Port.
