WSET Level 2 Sessions 1 & 2

WSET Level 2 Intensive-

16 hours of class starting

Cost is € 570 euros

Cost covers: Textbook, Workbook, 8 classes-16 hours total, 6 wines tasted each class, practice exams and quizzes, test exam and upon successful completion, certificate and pin.

Sessions 1 & 2

12:PM-4PM with 30 minute break

Sessions will cover:

  • Course induction Tasting technique.

  • Pairing wine and food

  • Factors influencing the production of red wines.

  • Pinot Noir, Zinfandel/Primitivo

  • You will be able to describe the style and quality of both still wines made from regionally important grape varieties and other regionally important named wines made in the key wine producing countries of the world.

Students are expected to read textbook and specification prior to the start of class, as well as read the WSET Specification for Level 2. Students will learn the SAT (WSET’s Systematic Approach to Tasting) A concise and detailed tasting system that allows student to be able reading the label what flavours and structural characteristics one might expect from the wine, can you accurately estimate what a wine will taste like? If the label says ‘Gran Reserva’ what kind of flavours would you expect?

Useing this method you will be able begin thinking about elements in wine High Acidity? Why?If there are flavours of vanilla and toast, can the students explain why?
